Why does inbreeding matter in Ladoum breeding?

High inbreeding raises the risk of malformations, reduced fertility and fragile lambs. In practice, a Wright coefficient below 6.25% is considered low; above 12.5%, the mating is not recommended.

The race for size pushes breeders to reuse the same prestigious sires, which concentrates genes — and defects. The inbreeding coefficient (COI) measures that risk: the probability of inheriting the same gene twice from a common ancestor.
